My name is Mel Underwood, and I've been making jewellery for quite a while now. It all began as a hobby, and the occasional gift for a friend or family member. Then the hobby got out of control and I found I had loads of design ideas that were turning into jewellery – but what was I going to do with it all?
In 2012 a friend suggested I have a table at our children's school summer fayre. I enjoyed getting everything ready and was pleased with how the table looked on the day – although being outside the wind was tricky to contend with! It was lovely seeing the interest my designs got and also making some sales for the first time. This enabled me to buy more beads and see more of my creative ideas come to life.
A church in Watford held a Christmas craft fayre a few months later so I had a table there. Following this I held a couple of jewellery parties, one at my house and one at the home of a very supportive friend. Both of these went really well and I even got orders after the events. It turned out to be just the beginning.
So now I'm up and running! I'm happy to hold jewellery parties in the Watford area and take orders locally – I hope to have online sales in the future. So please take a look at the photos of some of my creations and feel free to get in touch via the contact page.
